Building Communities Resilient to Crime, Disasters and Violent Extremism
Undertaking a Risk Assessment and Management (RAM) approach to mapping the issue of community resilience, these authors attempt to outline a course of action that will better position communities to cope with the challenges, as well as build on the strengths, associated with diversity and immigration. Recognizing that diversity implies a unique process for every community, this paper argues that it is possible to identify common characteristics in the effort to build resilient communities and outlines a number of concrete steps in achieving communities resilient to threats such as crime, disasters and violent extremism.
